Osvaldo Lozano

Osvaldo Lozano will forever treasure his time at Clear Horizons Early College High School.

“My time here really prepared me for the rest of my life,” Osvaldo said.

Growing up with cerebral palsy, Osvaldo could have easily been lost in the system during his school years, but his teachers didn’t let that happen.

Today, the 19-year-old is thriving, graduating from Clear Horizons, and headed to start his college career at University of Houston-Clear Lake where he plans to pursue a degree in business management.

He credits much of his success to the special education programs in Clear Creek ISD. Without them, he may have never learned how to use technology to communicate with others or develop the skills he never knew he had.

And he may never have had the opportunity to meet the people and friends he met along the way at Clear Horizons.

“I will miss the way that people treat me,” Osvaldo said while holding a large photo of his graduating class. “They become part of your family.”

The photo was a large class picture of all of the Clear Horizons 2017 graduates, around the photo were notes to Osvaldo. Some telling him how amazing it has been to know him, how he’s the hardest working person they have ever met, and how his classmates wish him the best in all of his future endeavors.

“I have been given all of the tools to succeed,” Osvaldo said. “I can’t wait to see what my future holds.”
